Description
A mandibular fracture is a severe facial injury involving a break in the lower jawbone. It is usually the result of direct blunt trauma from physical assaults, motor vehicle accidents, or sporting impacts. Because the jaw is a U-shaped ring, a severe impact often causes the bone to break in two separate places simultaneously.
