Severe discomfort in the lower face and chin.
Clinical Details
Intense, throbbing pain is localized to the lower jaw and severely worsens when speaking, swallowing, or attempting to open the mouth. The pain is caused by the severed periosteum and the constant shifting of the broken bone edges. The face may also swell significantly around the fracture line.
