Description
This neurotropic virus is primarily transmitted through the saliva of infected animals via deep bites or scratches. It travels along the peripheral nerves directly into the central nervous system, bypassing normal blood-borne immune defenses. Once clinical signs appear, the disease is almost universally fatal.
