Description
An elbow dislocation occurs when the bones of the forearm move out of their normal articulation with the bone of the upper arm. It is the second most common joint dislocation in adults, usually resulting from falling onto an outstretched hand with the arm fully extended. The traumatic force levers the joint out of its socket, tearing the stabilizing ligaments and capsule.
