Definition
The inability to move a specific body part.
Clinical Details
When the shoulder joint is fully dislocated, the arm becomes mechanically locked in an abnormal position. The patient will find it completely impossible to perform normal movements, and the muscles around the joint will spasm tightly in an attempt to stabilize the area. Forcing movement in this state causes excruciating pain.
