Wrist Sprain (CLINICAL)
Description
A wrist sprain occurs when the complex network of ligaments supporting the wrist joint are stretched or torn. It is almost universally caused by falling forward and extending a hand to break the fall, forcing the wrist backward into extreme hyperextension. This is a prevalent injury in sports like snowboarding, roller skating, and gymnastics.
