Rett Syndrome (CLINICAL)

Description

Rett syndrome is almost exclusively caused by a spontaneous mutation in the MECP2 gene on the X chromosome, meaning it is rarely inherited. This gene is crucial for normal brain function and the regulation of other genes. Infants typically develop normally for the first 6 to 18 months before experiencing a rapid and severe regression of acquired skills.
