Description
Hypopituitarism is a complex endocrine deficiency caused by physical damage to the pituitary gland or hypothalamus. This damage can result from large non-functioning tumors, brain radiation, severe head trauma, or surgical interventions. The clinical picture depends entirely on which specific hormone-producing cells are destroyed, potentially resulting in secondary failure of the thyroid, adrenal glands, or gonads.
