Hairline Fracture (CLINICAL)

Description

Unlike an acute break from a massive impact, a stress fracture is an overuse injury that develops gradually over time. It occurs when repetitive mechanical loads, such as long-distance running or marching, overwhelm the bone's ability to repair itself, leading to microscopic cracks. They are incredibly common in the weight-bearing bones of the lower leg and foot, particularly the tibia and metatarsals.
