Severe sensitivity to pressure at a specific, localized spot.
Clinical Details
A defining clinical sign of a stress fracture is extreme tenderness when pushing directly on the exact spot of the bone crack. Unlike a muscle strain where pain is spread over a larger area, the pain from a hairline fracture can often be isolated to a specific, dime-sized spot on the bone.
