Description

An electrical injury is caused by an electric current passing through the human body. The current rapidly heats tissues along its path, causing deep internal burns, and violently disrupts the body's natural electrical signaling. High-voltage shocks from power lines or lightning strikes are highly lethal, while low-voltage household shocks can still cause severe localized damage.
