Description
A nasal fracture is the most common facial fracture, resulting from direct blunt trauma to the face. Because the nose protrudes prominently, it is highly susceptible to injury during physical altercations, falls, and contact sports. The trauma often shatters the thin nasal bones and tears the underlying mucous membranes, potentially obstructing the airway.
