Trouble drawing air through the nasal passages.
Clinical Details
The combination of displaced bone, shifting cartilage (deviated septum), internal blood clots, and massive tissue swelling physically blocks the nasal airway. The patient will likely be forced to breathe entirely through their mouth. Attempting to breathe through the nose may produce a whistling or snorting sound.
