Description
Tendinosis is a degenerative condition resulting from chronic overuse and repetitive microtrauma that exceeds the tendon's ability to heal itself. Rather than acute inflammation, the cellular structure of the tendon breaks down, leading to disorganized collagen, increased ground substance, and a loss of tensile strength. It commonly affects the Achilles, patellar, and elbow tendons in adults engaged in repetitive physical tasks.
