Description
Degenerative Spondylolisthesis occurs when the facet joints and intervertebral discs in the spine deteriorate, losing their structural integrity and allowing a vertebra to shift out of alignment. This slippage can compress the spinal canal and nerve roots, triggering a cascade of mechanical and neurological pain. It most commonly affects the lumbar spine of adults over 50, particularly women.
