Neurogenic Claudication
Type: Symptom
Definition
Pain, cramping, or weakness in the legs brought on by walking or standing.
Clinical Details
This occurs because an upright posture further narrows the already compromised spinal canal, compressing the cauda equina nerve roots. Symptoms are typically relieved by sitting or bending forward.
