Description
Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) involves the shrinking of the frontal and temporal lobes, areas of the brain generally associated with personality, behavior, and language. Unlike Alzheimer's disease, memory often remains relatively intact in the early stages, while personality is drastically altered. It often begins earlier than other dementias, typically striking between the ages of 40 and 65.
