Description
Tiotropium works by blocking muscarinic receptors in the airway smooth muscle, preventing acetylcholine-induced bronchoconstriction. This results in prolonged airway dilation and reduced mucus secretion. It is used daily to prevent COPD flare-ups and improve breathing capacity over time.
