Stony, dark brown to black concretions firmly attached to the outer hair shaft.
Clinical Details
The fungus secretes a tightly bound matrix of hyphae that encrusts the external cuticle of the hair. These hard, gritty masses are nearly impossible to remove with normal combing or washing.
