Linear cleavages or deep cracks occurring in the thickened stratum corneum.
Clinical Details
Chronic fungal infection causes the skin between the toes to become macerated, fragile, and hyperkeratotic. Normal foot movements force these rigid, compromised skin layers to split, creating painful open wounds.
