Tiny, pinpoint red or purple spots appearing on the skin due to bleeding.
Clinical Details
Leukemic marrow replacement causes a drastic drop in platelet production, leading to severe thrombocytopenia. Without enough platelets to patch microscopic capillary leaks, tiny hemorrhages occur under the skin, resembling a dark red rash.
