Definition
An unhealthy pale appearance of the skin and mucous membranes.
Clinical Details
The massive overproduction of leukemic blasts suppresses the marrow's ability to produce normal red blood cells. The resulting severe anemia reduces the circulating hemoglobin, draining the natural pink coloration from the patient's face and conjunctiva.
