Bleeding from the uterus that is abnormally heavy, prolonged, or irregular.
Clinical Details
In premenopausal women, a developing endometrial tumor disrupts the normal hormonal shedding cycle of the uterus. This causes the patient to experience unusually heavy periods or continuous spotting between their normal menstrual cycles.
