Definition
A steadily worsening difficulty in swallowing, starting with solids and progressing to liquids.
Clinical Details
The growing tumor physically occludes the esophageal lumen, creating a mechanical bottleneck for ingested material. Patients first notice meat or bread getting stuck, eventually finding it impossible to even swallow water as the blockage grows.
