Deep, painful, non-pitting inflammatory edemas that mysteriously appear, disappear, and relocate.
Clinical Details
As the centimeter-long larva actively uses its sharp cephalic hooks to physically shred and tunnel through subcutaneous tissues, it leaves behind a massive trail of inflammatory destruction. The host mounts a vigorous, highly edematous immune response to the physical trauma and the worm's toxic secretions. The resulting massive swellings visually track the random, blind path of the migrating parasite.
