Definition
An abnormal accumulation of clear lymphatic fluid within the tunica vaginalis surrounding the testicle.
Clinical Details
In male patients infected with Wuchereria bancrofti, the adult worms show a strong predilection for nesting in the lymphatic vessels of the spermatic cord. The resulting lymphatic blockage causes massive retrograde fluid transudation into the scrotal sac. This leads to extreme, highly disfiguring scrotal enlargement that severely impacts mobility and sexual function.
