Definition
Irregular heartbeats caused by damage to the heart's electrical conduction system.
Clinical Details
The inflammatory infiltrates and subsequent scarring within the myocardium directly interrupt the heart's normal electrical pathways. This commonly manifests as right bundle branch blocks or dangerous ventricular tachycardias. Patients may experience palpitations, syncope, or sudden cardiac death.
