Definition
An abnormal secretion from the vagina that may be altered in color, consistency, or odor.
Clinical Details
The parasite causes localized sloughing of epithelial cells and recruits a massive influx of polymorphonuclear leukocytes. This inflammatory exudate presents as a copious, frothy, yellow-green vaginal discharge. It is frequently accompanied by a distinct, unpleasant, musty or fishy odor.
