Definition
Inflammation of the choroid and retina of the eye, potentially causing vision impairment.
Clinical Details
This occurs when parasites invade retinal tissues, leading to necrosis and severe localized inflammation. It is a classic sign of congenital toxoplasmosis but can also present in acquired cases. If left untreated, it can cause permanent scarring and partial or complete blindness.
