Severe dyspnea
Type: Symptom
Definition
An acute, overwhelming difficulty in breathing leading to respiratory collapse.
Clinical Details
Inhaled spores are transported by macrophages to the mediastinal lymph nodes, where they aggressively multiply and unleash massive amounts of edema toxin. This causes catastrophic fluid accumulation in the chest cavity, physically crushing the lungs and airway. It marks the rapid, fatal progression of pulmonary disease, often resulting in death within days.
