The excretion of thick, opaque, yellow or green fluid from the genitals.
Clinical Details
The bacteria trigger an intense localized acute inflammatory response, recruiting thousands of neutrophils to the mucosal surface. As these immune cells ingest the bacteria and die, they form a massive volume of thick, inflammatory pus. This highly infectious exudate drains continuously from the urethra or cervix.
