Clinical Details
Regional lymph nodes trap the invading streptococcal bacteria, initiating a massive proliferation of localized immune cells. This aggressive cellular expansion causes the anterior cervical nodes to become visibly swollen and highly sensitive to touch. It indicates a robust localized immune defense against the oropharyngeal invasion.
