Mild to moderate pain and swelling affecting multiple joints.
Clinical Details
While less common in children, viral-antibody immune complexes frequently settle into the joint spaces of infected adults. This triggers temporary but highly painful inflammation of the wrists, knees, and ankles, mimicking acute rheumatoid arthritis. The joint pain typically resolves completely within a few weeks without permanent structural damage.
