Inflammation of one or both testicles, causing severe pain and swelling.
Clinical Details
In post-pubertal males, the virus frequently spreads to the testicular tissue via the bloodstream. This causes acute inflammation, significant swelling, and extreme testicular pain that can last for several days. In rare, severe cases, bilateral testicular involvement can lead to testicular atrophy and sterility.
