Tiny white spots surrounded by a red ring appearing inside the mouth.
Clinical Details
These pathognomonic lesions develop on the buccal mucosa before the generalized body rash appears. They represent early viral replication and local necrosis of the epithelial cells in the mouth. Finding these spots provides a highly reliable early clinical diagnosis of the disease.
