Irregular yellow patches or nodules on the skin caused by lipid deposits.
Clinical Details
When blood lipid levels become extraordinarily high, the excess fat begins to deposit directly into the skin tissues and tendons. Macrophages ingest the fat and transform into foam cells, creating visible, yellowish bumps. They frequently appear on the knuckles, knees, or the Achilles tendon.
