Early Satiety
Type: Symptom
Definition
The sensation of feeling completely full after eating only a small amount of food.
Clinical Details
Inflammation and swelling around the ulcer site can partially obstruct the passage of food through the digestive tract. The stomach also spasms in response to the irritation, reducing its ability to expand normally. This makes the patient feel uncomfortably full very quickly.
