Definition
Small, spider-like blood vessels visible beneath the surface of the skin.
Clinical Details
As the fatty liver progresses toward cirrhosis, it fails to properly metabolize circulating estrogen. The excess estrogen dilates tiny capillaries near the skin's surface, creating distinct, web-like red marks. They are most commonly found on the face, neck, and upper chest.
