Sudden, repetitive, and uncontrollable coughing episodes.
Clinical Details
The inflamed airways are hyper-sensitive and often secrete copious amounts of sticky mucus to trap perceived irritants. The body attempts to forcefully expel this mucus and clear the airway blockages through continuous coughing. These fits are notoriously worse at night or early in the morning.
