A gradual reduction in a person's vertical height over time.
Clinical Details
As the vertebrae in the spine lose their internal bone density, they become structurally compromised and begin to compress. Over several years, these micro-fractures cause the spine to physically shorten. A patient may lose several inches of height as the disease advances.
