A disorder that affects a person's ability to communicate.
Clinical Details
If the stroke occurs in the brain's language centers, usually in the left hemisphere, cognitive processing of words is disrupted. Patients may suddenly be unable to speak coherently, find the right words, or understand what others are saying. This symptom is immediate and highly distressing.
