Clinical Details
If plaque narrows the carotid arteries leading to the brain, temporary disruptions in cerebral blood flow can occur. This causes brief neurological deficits, such as slurred speech or facial drooping, that resolve within minutes or hours. These attacks are critical warning signs of a major impending stroke.
