Hyperhidrosis
Type: Symptom
Definition
Abnormally excessive sweating that is not necessarily related to heat or exercise.
Clinical Details
Thick layers of adipose tissue insulate the body, trapping core heat and elevating the internal temperature. To cool down, the autonomic nervous system overstimulates the sweat glands. This results in heavy, constant sweating throughout the day.
