Loss of Strength
Type: Symptom
Definition
A noticeable decrease in the physical power of the shoulder.
Clinical Details
Because the structural anchor of the joint is compromised, the muscles cannot generate their normal force without causing pain or feeling unstable. The patient will notice a distinct weakness, particularly when attempting to lift the arm straight out in front of them or above their head. Athletes will experience a severe drop in throwing velocity.
