Clinical Details
The inflammatory response lowers the pain threshold of the sensory nerves in the skin. The burned area becomes highly sensitive to even light touch, making wearing tight clothes, taking a hot shower, or sleeping incredibly uncomfortable. The skin feels tight, dry, and distinctly irritated.
