Definition

A visible loss of the normal outward curve of the cheek.

Clinical Details

When the cheekbone breaks, it is frequently pushed inward toward the skull by the force of the blow. This causes a distinct visual deformity where the affected side of the face appears flat or depressed compared to the uninjured side. The structural asymmetry is often obvious once the initial swelling subsides.
