Restricted Movement
Type: Symptom
Definition
A severe limitation in the flexibility and range of motion of the spine.
Clinical Details
Due to the combination of tissue damage, inflammation, and protective spasms, the patient's spine becomes extremely stiff. Bending forward to touch the toes or put on shoes becomes practically impossible. The patient often adopts a rigid, slightly hunched posture to avoid stretching the injured muscles.
