Definition
A critical drop in blood pressure due to extreme blood loss.
Clinical Details
As the patient bleeds heavily from the deep wound tract, the total volume of blood circulating in the body drops dangerously low. The patient's skin becomes pale and cold, their heart rate skyrockets, and they become intensely dizzy or confused. Without immediate surgical intervention to stop the hemorrhage and replace fluids, the patient will die.
