Clinical Details
The loss of the protective enamel layer exposes the microscopic tubules in the dentin that lead directly to the tooth's nerve. Consuming cold drinks, hot soup, or even drawing in a sharp breath of cold air triggers a sudden, piercing pain. This sensitivity is a major hallmark of a deep dental fracture.
