Definition
Ache or sharp discomfort originating from a specific tooth.
Clinical Details
If the fracture reaches the sensitive dentin or the inner pulp chamber, the patient will experience a severe, throbbing toothache. The pain may be constant or it may only occur when biting down, which pushes the cracked pieces of the tooth apart. If the nerve is exposed, the pain can be agonizing and radiating.
